The aim is simple; a programme to help you plan for a great retirement with real purpose and backed by financial security and confidence.
It doesn’t matter if you want to:
- Get out at the next available opportunity
- Reduce your hours and go part time
- Stagger your exit via reduced hours and/or supply teaching
The result is the same.

It’s not just for classroom teachers of course. Whatever your role has been in a school, academy or college management team – secretary, bursar, or head – Life Beyond Teaching is for you.
How it works
Life Beyond Teaching Prep Session
First, we meet to talk. I call this the Prep Session.
- We discuss what you want from retirement, what you want to achieve and what’s important to you.
- We check out what your Teachers Pension will be worth to you on retirement
- We look at what else you’ve got in place in your savings pots and other household income
From that, I’ll create a simple action plan that you can take away and use, right there and then, no obligation.
Need more than the basics?
Your Life Beyond Teaching Prep Session will cover the basics, but it won’t be a plan for the most important parts of retirement, including:
- The reality check of when and how you can retire
- Your exit path – work or not work?
- Planning for all the parts of retirement – social, family, travel, etc
- Creating the financial framework to support your plan
That’s what the Life Beyond Teaching programme does.
Life Beyond Teaching
Life Beyond Teaching is a bespoke personalised programme, unique to Panthera LIFE.
Based on decades of experience working with teachers wanting to retire 5+ year early, Life Beyond Teaching gets you retirement-ready. It maps your transition from classroom to retirement, and gives you direction and purpose into the next 30+ years of your life.
- It’s not a fixed timetable. You’ve had enough of those for the last xx years!
- It’s not a standard ‘curriculum’. Life Beyond Teaching is bespoke and personalised to you.
- It’s not an ‘attend and forget’ course. It’s a partnership between us to get you to where you want to be, when you want to be there, with support and advice.
Life Beyond Teaching sessions are arranged around you and your availability, with personal support throughout from me. You can opt for weekly sessions spread over six weeks, or a set number of sessions at times to suit us both. It combines face to face and online meetings with 1-2-1 retirement planning and coaching, and yes, a little bit of fun homework in between!
